How to Dot a Scorecard
You need the USGA GHIN app to calculate a handicap
Open the USGA GHIN app
Select Handicap Calculator
Choose the course you are playing. Be sure to select the correct tees and nine holes (front/back)
Click "Add Golfer"
Enter the name of the golfer you are playing against. If you "star" their name, they will be saved for future rounds.
Select the golfer from the list and hit "Add Golfers"
The S.O. column shows the number of strokes/dots the golfer with the higher handicap gets per round.
Locate the "Women's Handicap" row on the scorecard.
For the nine holes you are playing, start with the lowest handicap hole and add one dot for the higher handicap player. For example, hole #4 on the front of the West course is the hardest hole (#1 handicap), so the higher handicap player gets a dot on that hole.
Move to the next hardest hole and add a dot. Continue until all dots are used. If a player gets more than nine strokes/dots, go back to the lowest handicap number and add a second dot. Continue until all dots are used.
